^ You have to look at it in the context of the car not being worth enough to the owner to justify a regular ~ $400 budget paint job, that in that case the paint is probably shot and you might as well break out the spray cans. BTW, a spray can paint job doesn't have to look bad at all if you don't make beginner mistakes like trying to put on too thick a coat. For example the first coat should not look completely even and completely hide the undercoat color, and so on with subsequent passes.
Granted, it'll most likely take more than six cans to get a good result but so it goes with spray on rubber too. The bottom line is if you're going to do all the work anyway it might as well be as permanent as possible.
