I bought a couple. Wanting add 2 Ergotron LX 45-241-026 Desk Mount LCD Arms. Unfortunately the ones I saw on here a few days back and ordered were canceled by Tiger Direct three days later. Considering ing using the 2 $100 gift certificates to buy the mounts from Dell. TD advertised them for $77.99 each (through
    ebay
) and dell sells them for $169.99 each.

TD has been canceling a lot of orders lately, makes me wonder what they are up to... Something fishy going on... It all started happening when they announced the closing of all but 3 of their stores...

They also started calling me directly out of the blue (I have a small business) to ask if I needed anything. I never liked them and that didn't help. Also they canceled my order via email. Then two days later they sent me the same email canceling the same order. They are falling apart, and they were never all that together.

Yep same here. I wonder if anybody got anything they ordered from that
    TigerDirect
    "Going out of business Sale"

And thanks for telling me Dave. I checked and they still haven't refunded my order. I'm going to put a stop to it.

I suggest you all do the same thing and reverse the charges on your credit card. It may be possible that they wouldn't be able to credit your account if they are defaulting on their credits.

It's strange that they charged the credit card before the item was shipped. And we are, after all, talking about
    TigerDirect.

    ^ I contacted TD through
    eBay
a couple days ago (waited till the day after estimated delivery had passed) stating not-delivered/request refund, and yesterday, then today, they credited back all items to paypal, though they had been removed from my ebay purchase history for at least a few hours before the credit showed up at paypal.

For this reason I would recommend trying what I did and waiting a few days before reversing the charge with the credit card co. because then they have to contact paypal who then has to contact TD and wait for a response or X # of days for a default judgement to give you the refund, which if you bought through paypal could alienate paypal a bit that you didn't contact them first.

AFAIK, you are also covered by
    eBay
    buyer's protection.

Keep in mind that no gift card reseller sites will touch Dell gift cards since last November, leaving you to use them yourself or find a trustworthy party to sell to.

I ended up getting a video card with my last GC but their price was ~ 30% more than I could have bought same thing except a different brand elsewhere... otherwise I could've price matched.

I just assumed that everything you buy on
    eBay
is charged at time of checkout, no?

    I don't buy a heck of a lot from
    eBay
    .

And certainly didn't have an issue with somebody not refunding in time.

Actually the CC reversal does not go the way you mentioned. The put back is immediate. They'll notify the vendor, and it's up to them to prove that the reversal is not valid. If they can provide proof, then they'll take it out of your account again.

It doesn't matter who the other payment vendor is. It's your cc company responding.

But if you do that to paypal they're not going to like it without your letting them try to handle the dispute first. Usually if you reverse a charge then the company you reverse it from won't accept that credit card any longer, so if paypal's in the middle you're reversing a charge to paypal not the merchant.

I don't really care what Paypal thinks. I don't use them for anything else.

    ^ To me,
    eBay
is a large anything else. They and
    Amazon
comprise half my online purchases. I prefer
    Amazon
but they charge me tax and you can't get the same cheap-as-dirt, direct from China pricing.
