I did as you suggested, and got the ebook and the Audible narration. Just received an email from Audible.com saying "Welcome to the Audible community."
I think I just joined a monthly subscription service, but I'm not entirely sure. Nor am I entirely sober, so maybe you can help me out.

Although Audible advertises their monthly service like crazy, they actually sell one-off audiobooks as well without a monthly membership. If you just checked the "Audible narration" box, there shouldn't be any monthly charges.

I just finished with reading/listening, and I really liked the Audible Narration format in the Kindle app. The narration by Neil Hunt was really good.
