3 stars from reviewers. Especially bad for small animals, where they have a difficult time getting it to open, and then it closes on them while they are eating. Exterior is beat up out of the box.

Looks like an automatic dog-nose guillotine. :(

Why would anyone need this? I was thinking, outside? Well if a opossum comes up to it, it opens. Fail. Inside, keep the cat out? No it opens... Keep form spilling stuff in it? Nope it opens when I get near it. Kids? No it opens.... So really what is the purpose????? I don't get it.

Outdoors it might have a sufficiently large trigger sensitivity to keep out small vermin, birds, insects, leaves, and particularly if the food is wet it might help to keep out flies and mosquito larvae, or depending on how well it seals, keep the food from getting wet when it rains.

^ That could be why it's now $8 instead of $40, but even an empty bowl that smells like food will attract other animals and the dog, or a cat, might be making you tired of finding those animals dead in your yard to dispose of. Obviously it's not a product meant to be needed for most people since people have managed to have pets for many centuries before these came along.

LOL, I just **** my neighbor's dog last week for wandering in my back yard.
