They take forever (like 2 weeks) to ship, and mine was then DOA. Still waiting for the refund, as they were OOS when I sent it back.

DD-WRT looks... tricky... with this model, due to the TMo firmware. I wasn't going to bother.

I rooted mine and put Merlin on it. Working great as an access point. schmoe is right, the instructions were a little tricky but definitely worth it!

I can only speak to Merlin. The interface looks just like the stock Asus interface. There are many different options you could flash.

This TM-AC1900 router can be flashed over to a Asus RT-AC68U to support the following 3rd party firmware:

JOHNS MERLIN FORK FIRMWARE
TOMATO BY SHIBBY
