I HAD one of these. It is solid and I would by no means say that it is cheaply made. It is solid and appears to be manufactured very well. BUT, even though it comes with instructions - it was very hard to figure out how to operate. I never did, so I sold it on
eBay.
I was able to record with it. I just never could figure out all the buttons. If you can I'm sure this will work nicely. And I paid $15 for mine.
