The model number for this NAS cloud drive is for Seagate's old model, which apparently has very mixed reviews with folks who have bought and used it and its smaller and larger variants ranging from 2TB to 5TB drives.
The main complaint people have expressed on this drive is its slow transfer speed, especially when transferring files wirelessly. Several people did have better transfer rates when using a wired connection although some did not. The old models do have a firmware update available, so this may help fix some of its issues.
The idea of your own personal cloud is nice, but I rather wait on tech like this to mature a bit more. Having said that, I did grab a portable wireless 1TB DNLA streaming drive for $10 less. It seemed to have better reviews and who can say no to wireless, portable streaming? Of course, I would have preferred a bigger drive, lol! :)
