I looked at these last year and decided it was a joke. Even if it was better built, the edge guard design is major stoopud. The fertilizer that is flung out of one side of the spreader hits a guard which causes part of it to fall directly down beside the spreader wheel. Anyone that has used a broadcast spreader would know it will cause burning of the grass due to over fertilization and it will leave burn streaks in the yard.

I just use a $8 hand crank one like this. And I'm on 1/3 acre minus house/deck. For the 2x a year I use it. Works fine had it for years.
