There are at least two gotchas. First is the $20 per month charge for phone service which you must turn off on their website. The second is an $8 per month charge for "clear voice" which can only be turned off by calling the billing department. Must do both within 30 days of ordering the phone as that's when the first 30 free trial begins. There's also a $6 per month charge on the order invoice for warranty which must be turned off when placing the order. Had problems getting the phone to make and receive phone calls. Three email exchanges with tech support (48-hour turn-around) fixed that -- the phone number assigned at ordering doesn't work, had to go online to select a new number, and that was the solution. After all that, it seems to work fine and this is a pretty fast phone, a great price for a smartphone. Within the 200 free minutes, comes 100 minutes of free international calls. Not sure if another gotcha awaits. Be sure you'll stay under the 200 minutes/text and 500mb. FreedomPop's business model is based on people going over and incurring gotchas.
