Decent deal for fuzzy logic rice cooker. Reviews compare it to zojirushi. I have seen the TIGER Japanese made for $70 on bens. I have 2 Tigers, one 5.5 and one 10 cup and they are well built and make supreme rice of many types. On the flip side, rosewill makes decent affordable appliances . I have a rosewill hot water kettle still working every day after 3 years. Likely the only difference is the tiger has a heavier pot that will likely last twice as long.

I've had a basic rice cooker for 20 years and it just keeps plugging away but I might have to try a "Fuzzy Logic" cooker now.

As stated below, fuzzy logic rice cookers are the way to go if you love rice and eat a lot of it. They have computer chips that direct their ability to make proper adjustments to cooking time and temperature (yeah, I cut and pasted this because I couldn't come up with a decent description). The top names in this type of cooker are Tiger and Zojirushi, but they are a good bit more expensive.

The issue I have with Rosewill products (I've bought a lot of them in the past) is that if you get a good one, they are easily worth the money. However, their quality control is not all that hot. Reviews from
Amazon
and
Newegg
bare this out: most are either 5-star or 1-star. They either work fine or they don't. Caveat emptor...

IMO, white is the only type that needs a cooker like this. Brown whole grain is what I usually cook and it comes out perfect every time with a regular pot on the stove.

Use a large pot, be sure the water ratio is right, boil water then add rice and cover it, reduce heat to simmer 40 min then remove from heat and let sit 5 min with the lid off.
