Probably more expensive to make and much smaller runs due to limited customer base.

I'd kind of like them to develop steam powered cars... heated by a self contained nuclear reactor, but the breach during bad accidents could be a problem.

Tell that to my 45 year old Dark Side of the Moon Japanese vinyl import. I have never had a CD last that long. You take care of your vinyl and it will last a lifetime.
