This author got a lot better as the series went on. I read the prequel, and it was not great, but mostly entertaining. I then tried to read vol 1, and it read like the
target
audience was 13 year old kids. I dropped it in mid story. Still, you can't beat the price. It's possible that it could have picked up at vol 2, but there's so much good stuff to read out there that I just couldn't waste my time.
