Java needs to just go away as quickly as possible. It is slow, has endless security flaws and is a pain to get working half of the time.

I wasn't being sarcastic when I asked for an alternative. Every now and then I take a crack at coding something that I like to do and would like to make available to whoever wants it.

Visual Basic used to be OK for that but not so much anymore.
I just did a little program (should call it an app to be kool?) in Java but I can't get it to work on my android phone.
