Works great once you complete your struggle to get it set up. Honestly, I can't imagine how Philips could make the controls and touch-sensitive buttons more confusing. Not only are the settings accomplished by obscure icons and non-intuitive touch (capacitive) areas on the face of the light, the tactile buttons that you use all of the time are on the rim, and not easily seen or pressed. If you are interested in this light, go see it first and make sure it suits you. As for the functionality of the light, I use a combination of the rising light and Robin chirping. It works perfectly to get me up. The light gets brighter and brighter about 30 minutes prior to the bird chirp alarm. It's a much more comfortable experience than a common alarm clock blast in your ear. There are several alternative wake-up plans you can twiddle.
I agree with NoNose, there is no easy snooze button to hit, the buttons are very small and bunched in threes. That said, it wakes me up gently without the alarm every morning.
