perfect stocking stuffers. I've had 12 of these (half AA, half AAA) for a little over a decade, and while most of my rechargeable batteries are in the trash after a couple years, these are still going strong!
^ Yes/No/Maybe. Panasonic sold their Japanese NiMH factory to Fujitsu so now they are sourcing Eneloops from both there and a factory in China with a little lower quality cells. So far none of those made in China have shown up in the US (AFAIK), but it's still possible.
The end result is Panasonic is banking on their name to charge a little more than the exact same cells from Fujitsu, (the made in Japan version of) Basics LSD NiMH, and a couple other brands I can't recall at the moment, although in this particular case they're throwing in the charger which is a reasonably good (for the $), albeit slow, Delta -V based unit.
I love eneloop batteries and this charger works fine with them. But, the charger does not like to charge any of my other batteries, Duracel, Enerizers. It will just constantly flash green lights on them.

Thank you!
