They don't have any mechanism to lock/seal/close the point from where you take the sip.

^ Not a big deal to me, frankly I'd rather not have one as things like coffee with cream tend to gunk up such mechanisms and take a lot longer to clean. I suppose dishwasher safe would work but I don't run the dishwasher every day.
