If the switch on this works like on a 4 port Orico I have, it's a momentary, not latching switch which means that every time you turn the computer on and off, or if there's a power outage, you have to press the button to get your USB peripherals connected again instead of it coming on automatically with the computer USB power.
If you turn your computer on and off a lot or the site is prone to power blips/outages that's a hassle. If you instead want a one-touch way to disconnect or reconnect everything plugged into it that's a bonus, again assuming it works the same as my 4 port Orico hub.
Pity about the 1 meter cable. If it were only a couple feet longer it would go a long way towards putting both the computer and hub exactly where you want them if you have the computer under a desk.
These short ~ 3' cables are so common that I'm beginning to wonder if the hub chip isn't sensitive enough to use a longer cable without it being a substantially higher quality (cost) cable. My 4 port version has what "looks" like a thick, decent quality cable but short doesn't seem good... who needs a 10 port hub for a laptop where shorter is better?
