I had one of these. No, it's not worth a try for a buck. These are horrible. Turns your soap/foam black, smells bad, and the bristles start tangling and falling out after the second use.
I have one that looks very similar. It arrived smelling like it hadn't been pre-washed or sterilized.
So I washed it in strong detergent and bleach. The color didn't change but the odor was gone and the brush functioned well. As I said, though it looks like this, it may have been otherwise different.
