Still waiting for sub $220 for a 970. Willing to keep waiting. Replaying watch dogs on r7 260x on ultra settings averaging 40 fps. Amazing little thing.

Oh come on, I have a 970 and it's well worth skipping that wait. New life.

I'd have to agree, at the point a 970 gets to $220 -AR it won't be a value. At such a time other cards that are on the newer 14/16nm FinFET will be in the market or showing soon, such average 970's will no-long have the shine. Honestly, even this isn't a great deal... when for $280, leveraging $10 less on the rebate you can have card like the PowerColor PCS+ 390 8Gb.

Or, pay the $4 shipping and there's the Gigabyte Gaming Windforce, a especially nice Higher-End constructed unit offering 1025Mhz. Same $280 -AR$20.

Just pointing out that this MSI 970 Armor 2X is more a straight-forward (this doesn't include the Gaming clock(s) 3 modes) and fairly average 1241Mhz Boost (vs their Gaming @ 1279 Mhz). Looking at the cooler of this it seem to have less in the Heat-Pipe department (just 2), while from what it looks like smaller, less blade fans. So a fairly economy spec/construction/build, and by which in a budget price point. $260 and working a $30 is oh-hum right today.
