Note that most coffee mugs have a concave bottom, and don't do a very good job transferring the heat from these. If you're going to get this, consider getting a flat-bottomed mug.
^Agreed, shaddycore. Flat bottomed mug or not, ceramic (in my experience, from what most coffee mugs are made) is a great insulator. Heating the bottom of an insulator isn't going to do all that much in this case. I've had a dozen of these things over the years and I have yet to have one that seemed to slow down the time it took my coffee to cool down. And no, I didn't buy all of those for myself; all crappy gifts.
If these were battery powered you could slip a pair into your pants pockets to keep your boys warm in the winter. They'd work for the girls too but you might need a larger bra...
