But what about the 128GB version? And doesn't the Pro 2 have a microSD slot? I've wanted one of these for a long time. I'd like to know if that 128GB version is worth it at $600.
Totally worth it. I hate Microsoft, I hate Windows, I despise Metro, but I have to admit, this is a good product, and $600 is a good deal. I've been using one for several months; it's very fast and powerful (it will run Visual Studio like a champ) and the battery life is great. On the down side, the keyboard cover sucks something awful (the trackpad in particular is infuriating), and the 10" screen feels cramped. Metro feels incoherent and slapped-on. As a tablet, it's extremely unconvincing. As a powerful ultrabook, it's pretty neat. Make sure you compare it side by side with a Pro 3 before you pull the trigger; that 12" screen looks awfully appealing to me.
I have a Surface Pro first Generation and I love it, it is also a 64GB system. Use a USB and or MicroSD for more storage and have no issues. I am not sure but I was at today and they have this system on clearance for $440.00 If you have a store around you might want to check on it.
Really? Seems like a lot of RAM to me. Of course, I'm being facetious. It really depends on your needs. I've used 32GB windows tablets with external mSD cards and they fit my needs okay. The key with the 32GB storage is to have a WIMBoot install. Not all devices are pre-WIMBooted, and doing it on your own can be pretty damned hard. 64GB, on the other hand, is very manageable. You can store media files on an external card, and have plenty of room for OS and apps.
No matter how much memory something has, if there's anything like it with more memory then someone will come along and say it's a great hardship to suffer through any less.
