Order was canceled as well. When back to the online store -- it indicated the item at the specific store was still in stock even when it wasn't. So it was either poor inventory tracking by Sears (not surprising) or a pure scam to collect your email address -- email address was required for the order.
See, this is EXACTLY the nonsense to which I've referred here regarding Sears's online ordering and problems with in-store inventory levels. Heck, I've been in a Sears store and their 30-year-old computers/cash registers can't even accurately tell the employees the inventory level of a specific item in that very store.
Unless you're walking into a Sears store, laying your hands on an in-stock item on the shelf, and then checking out, buying something from Sears is more trouble than it's worth.
Ordered a car battery for local pickup, Sears cancelled the order, "out of stock". Didn't bother to try and reorder. Probably in my best interest since I now realize Sears won't exist during the batteries 3 year warranty period.
^ People have said that for years yet Sears is still around. IMO, a better value for a battery is to snag one at Advance Auto the next time they have a high value coupon. Set up a deal alert because these days they often set it up so the first (n) # of users get a higher discount then the discount goes down.
