I've used this, along with free Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit for a long time and it works for me.

Definition: Norton failed to stop several malware intrusions in the past. One was some Vista Security Scan, scam. Bad site, clicked on wrong link and wam, Vista Security is now scanning your system, oh look you have viruses, oh look Norton is now disabled, oh look I have no fking internet connection. Norton was happy as hell to let this thing pass when Malware Bytes found removed but I had to fix some registry entries. Same for my son, wrong link, pop-up hell and load. Malware cleans. I have always used Malware Bytes in addition to a local virus scanner such as Windows Security Essentials. Now that Windows 10 has Windows Security Essentials built in I simply use Malware Bytes on the side. Corp IT uses it hear at work as well.

The paid version used to be for life.
Now it is for one year???
Very disappointing.
It's an EXCELLENT product, though. Very highly recommended.
