I usually find their STF jeans are a little oversized before washed, only need be an inch larger if that and otherwise are just a little stiff before the first (detergent) wash & machine dry.
Oh, and if you pick the unwashed style, and only soak them and put them on wet, your lower half may be stained a smurf-like blue appearance, or in the case of black I don't know how much prewashing they do but you could end up gray.
My dryer still has a faint blue stain ring around it from the dye that came off after the first wash... dozens of loads later.
Bought from them ones online, paid from PayPal, was too small size and I came to the local store to return it or replace. They did not have it for sure in the local store to replace, and refuse to return me money because I paid from PayPal, only the store credit printed on regular receipt paper with disappears in couple weeks, very disappointed, and will never buy from Levis online again. I even stopped to buy anything from their physical stores after that.
I'm naturally suspicious of men who want to wear "shrink-to-fit" blue jeans. Real men just buy their size and wear 'em.
All that shrink to fit means is the same jeans except they don't wash them as much, if at all at the factory. This means that you can control the shrinkage a little so they end up shaped more like a person than a board.
The difference is not much, but it also tends to mean they didn't pre-stress them as much if at all as the worn off fibers from that would be all over the jeans if they weren't washed away.
