I own one. Like it a lot. The only problem was the spring in the recoil start broke (they did the bend at the perforation), but being an engineer I fixed this in about 15 min. Could have taken it to warranty, I guess. Overall, I use this unit heavily and it does its job better than the Craftsman that I retired... Oh, and one thing - the blades are easy to sharpen, but it needs to be done periodically - soft steel, which is good since it doesn't chip on an occasional rock. Remove the blades and use a file, it's a 5 min job.
I have a Craftsman self-propelled mower that I bought 11 years ago, still cranks first pull every time, even after sitting in the shed all winter. Might be time for an upgrade though...
This mower doesn't have blade brake clutch it shuts down the engine so you have to restart it, Also not a fan of auto choke, lawn mower manufactures did away with throttles some time ago.
I highly recommend a model with a blade brake so you don't have to restart it every time you empty the bag.
That's a blade clutch. A blade brake slows the blade down extra fast when you let go of the handle lever/switch instead of 2 seconds later from the engine stopping due to loss of momentum.
I'd rather have neither... just two more things to break eventually. Granted if it doesn't have a blade clutch and you bag your grass, it might wear out the pull cord faster to be pull starting it more often, but most pull cords aren't too hard to replace, easier than a clutch anyway.
My 2 Suzuki-engined Toros w/ BBC are from '86 and '87 and are just getting broken in. Use less oil than any other engine I have. The BBC-s have never been a problem. While my H. is OK, the SP drive is a POS.

Thank you!
