This is the one made by German company Hasselbland, they designed the camera which was taken by astronauts on lunar mission. Although that model was more of rudimentary camera, still in display at Udvar Space Museum near Dulles International Airport in Washington DC. Watch Discovery channel, easiest way to get info on science.
It's essentially a Sony NEX-7 (an excellent but discontinued camera you can find for under $500, or you can get its replacement the Alpha A6000 for $700) with most of the changes skin-deep (the "ruby embellished control dials"...). So essentially you're paying double the price for an obsolete camera, because of its name. Stupid? Er... yeah. I think so.
Hasselblad is a Swedish, not a German, company, based in Gothenburg Sweden. It was established in 1941, so it is not a new company. It's well known for its Medium Format cameras, and it's popular in the world of professional photography.
You basically pay double the price for the Hasselblad name.
The company has gone through various acquisitions. So it's no longer owned by the original owners (the Hasselblad family).
