Mine had the + and - bass ackwards and would not work 'til I reversed the batts. Then, it was so bent and deformed in shipment that the thing was constantly shorting out. I figure that this thing is just not worth the hassle to try to get it to work. My $.02 is just avoid the whole POS.
I've had mine for about 2 years and love it. I get these little gnats and I'm surprised at the loud zap I occasionally get. They sell these at 'Harbor Freight' for about the same price or less with an occasional coupon.
