used to be the cheapest game in town. Im not sure if its the items Ive been purchasing, although nothing out of the ordinary, but Ive been finding them substantially cheaper through other online retailers and dont buy that much through anymore.
Ive definitely noticed a trend of them not being the cheapest game in town anymore.
isn't the cheapest anymore and they play computer games with their pricing. They can do this because they keep a database of everything you've bought or will likely buy and can adjust their offering to you to catch the extra bucks. Its called dynamic pricing. I stopped buying nearly as much from them in the past; although, I'm sure they are making more than ever from others.
I have never seen different prices on just for my account.
I *think* their dynamic pricing is done based on supply/demand/availability. Also, sites like https://bensbargains.com keeps pretty good price history of many products.
And yes, is not always the cheapest these days, but I suspect one can find an online retailer with better service and/or faster delivery.
does have good customer service but essentially what they're doing is putting warehouses *everywhere* with the hope that you're wanting an item so quickly that you'll pay for expedited shipping (or their Prime fee) and then tax on more states on top of that.
Many people like myself aren't in that big of a rush but what really stinks is I happen to have an amazon warehouse very nearby so I am taxed, and if they shipped an item same day I ordered it then I'd get it in 2 days with their cheapest/free shipping option, but sometimes they seem to deliberately sit on an order instead of shipping it just so I don't get it as soon as people who pay more due to being further from a warehouse.
People paying extra might think that's fair but to me fair is promptly shipping orders in the order in which they are received.
