These things probably cost 5 dollars to fabricate, they never touch human hand from the start to finish. the electronic is probably cooled by heatsinks while the band is injected, small needles pierce the rubber to make contact on a comm port, tested and programed, packaged and shipped. The manufacturers and retailers are laughing all the way to the bank. Now big brother knows your every step.
These are so unreliable. They have had build quality issues since they came out. My wife and I have collectively been through 5 of them in 2 years with normal use. Batteries, displays, and bands are all very cheap. Fortunately Fitbit has great customer service and has always replaced them for free, but it's a pain in the a$$.
I would never recommend a Charge HR to anyone (especially used or refurbed). Do 5 minutes of googling or youtube'ing and you'll see for yourself.
