I suppose that it's all depending on an individuals' needs, but I don't understand why anyone would need this in the world of printers with built in scanners.
4800 dpi is ridiculous amount of memory to use for one image.
Ignoring that this particular model is low end, only mid-low range quality scanners are built into printers unless you're talking a $1000 printer with the scanner a $200+ add-on and even then it tends to only be the equivalent of a $60 stand-alone scanner, though AIO printer scanners certainly have their place, especially when they automate duplex multi-sheet jobs and you don't want yet another appliance for that, BUT your AIO doesn't run from (only) USB power making it a lot less portable.
