^ Might be why it's discounted this much. You can get USB3 bay adapters for about $7 and up.

Personally I'd rather just scoot the system out of the way on the floor and put a USB3 hub on a desk. You just have to hunt a bit to find a HUB that comes with a long enough cable or one that's detachable so you swap the short one with a longer one.
