The 50GB "lifetime" subscription to box.com that I got with a tablet purchase works for me for free. Dropbox was my favorite recently when a 20GB offer expired.

For professionals who pushes a lot of data to be downloaded by clients, this would be a great deal. For the rest of us consumers, 1TB is too much and $84 is a little bit high. Heck with my slow 1Mbps connection, it may take months to upload a few gigs!

I agree, this probably isn't a deal for casual users. But it is a great alternative to an external hd, as long as you have relatively fast internet service. Also great for a small office to share an account, and be able to upload and update work files on the go. We have had good service from them.

With Comcast's data cap this would only take 4 months. LOL

I was able to get an unlimited (10TB) gdrive membership through my alma mater. I also got an O365 sub. Check if your school offers these benefits.

i've been a box.com business user for many years and it does the job. that said, i recently tried dropbox and i must say i was impressed with how easy it is to use. it's definitely worth considering. this is a good deal to get started but be prepared to pay more for additional storage on the cloud as you expand your use of it.
