brought out in 2013,i don't see any improvements older cpu and memory at that price I would want the a newer cpu intel is ready to bring out its 7th gen cpu
The XPS brand just isn't the same anymore. I still have an older XPS desktop which I keep mostly because it's an amazing chassis, a well designed solid aluminum body + tons of fans and expansion possibilities + cool heat sink on the CPU. I'll probably keep some of the hardware and upgrade the motherboard, CPU, GPU and disk. But the current 8700 series (a) blurred distinction between models, since the 8700 computers ship is a wide variety of configs (b) rather bland design. What's presented here is not too bad a deal, but not great either.
Funny ! Why they are pushing the i7 4th Generation Core when the 6th Generation is already out on the market ???
Define pushing. Offering for sale, at a discount, systems they have in stock is only logical. I'm sure you can pay more today for something else or wait till whatever you want is older and thus depreciated.
24gb is a fair amount of RAM, but why not just put 32gb in it? RAM is cheap nowadays... Now, put a 1TB SSD in this and you'd have a pretty fast PC...
But alas, I just switched to iMac, tired of Microsoft's invasion of privacy and forcing Windows 10 on people... We had computers at work start upgrading to Windows 10 even though we repeatedly declined the upgrade... Finally had to "Decline" the user agreement to revert back to the approved operating system.
