Does anyone know if this would be a good upgrade from to Radeon 5450 that I current have in my dell sff?
Radeon is optimized for content playback (movies, games), FirePro is optimized for content creation (3D modeling, CAD), so FirePro (like nvidia's quadro) performs relatively bad on content playback. Much better to spend your $150 on a Radeon or a GeForce, if you want content playback .

The Cape Verde graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 123 mm² and 1,500 million transistors. It features 512 shading units, 32 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. AMD has placed 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 630 MHz, memory is running at 1000 MHz.

hardware wise it is equivalent to a 7750.
