The version is actually fixed-bridge, not tremolo. I wouldn't go for a tremolo option this cheap anyway. (Low-end guitars often have enough tuning or setup stability problems without adding a tremolo.)
Anyway, I have one of the fixed-bridge Dean XMs and like it. (I leave it at my parents house for when I visit.) It's a good entry-level guitar or a basic body to put some 3rd party pickups in to make a pretty decent instrument. $99 is about as low of a price you'll see on one of these, and I'd take it over either a Squier or Epiphone.
