It is the new model, not the one pictured and not the one reviewed in the reviews. The new model has 2.1A USB ports on the front for charging things. I bought it anyway, lets hope it is as good as the older model.

Agreed on the good eyes. However the description has conflicting information. Just above the bullet point indicating "Next Generation..." it also says "Output Connections: (4) Battery Backup & Surge Protected Outlets, (4) Surge Protected Outlets" That is eight total outlets. The BRG1500AVRLCD model with the USB ports has 12 outlets. I suspect you will receive the older model pictured for this price...but who knows?
