Metric set same price. Harbor Freight has a 7 piece set that adds a smaller 3 mm socket for $15 plus there usually is a coupon you can apply to make them even less..
Both have pretty good reviews but both have complaints of breaking them.
I don't think you can expect them to be as strong as a non-ball type.
Craftsman has a better warranty but only as long as they keep selling them.
