Sears STILL can't get their messed-up inventory control situation figured out. Cancelled my order of this item. Lots of head scratchin' from Sears.

Might be best for Sears to get some higher bandwidth people and technology on-board.

Transcription of my chat with Sears technical support a few minutes ago:

Rollins: 6:09pm EST -- "I request you submit your order now as our system has been updated."

Me: 6:09pm EST -- "Where is my ******, Sears is ready now."

Rollins: 6:10pm EST -- "We have determined your conduct is inappropriate...Blah, Blah. Thank you for visiting us at Sears.com."

Sears is Grandma on the Dan Ryan Expressway in a Rambler.

Carrots. Loved that substitution. Va-Voom (choreography included at no extry charge).

Last order at Sears had 18 salespeople in the store and zero customers beyond me.

Eddie should be so proud.

I followed up this morning with Sears again (because I'm "hanal" about these kinds of things) to determine the cause of all these problems with the Sears.com website -- the problem is the website technology/database doesn't know when an item is out of stock so the customer order for non-existent stock goes through, then afterward the order is cancelled when some other database technology realizes there is no stock.

Doh!

Like I said (and have now amended) -- Sears is Grandma in a Rambler driving in reverse on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

Possibly all the competent IT people have already hit the exits at Sears and only the slackers are left.

Oh geez, some nitwit at Sears has now manually re-engaged all my previously auto-cancelled orders so now I'm going to get multiple copies of the same items and multiple charges to my accounts.

Just what I need -- a bunch of laser levels and a bunch of miter saws. You know, you can't have enough of those.

Where is that home phone number for Eddie Lampert's that I keep around here so I can call and wake him up?

I guess I'll use the extra laser levels to fry up some ham, then use the miter saws for French cutting my green beans. This is what they're supposed to be used for, right?

I chatted with G. Busey at Sears tech support and he thinks Sears has this ordering problem straightened out now. Says if I stand on my left foot and face my neighborhood Sears store, I should be okay.

So I'm off to my root canal appointment this morning. If the dentist is too busy, I'll just order that Sears 8.5 amp Impact Wrench that's currently on sale. Same pain, less charge to my account.

No matter what or who tried to stop the shipping (me or multiple tech support people from Sears.com), Sears went ahead and charged my account for multiple orders of the same product and then shipped all of them to me tonight.

Excellent. Just what I wanted, right?

I will have to pick more green beans to make use of all the miter saws arriving soon. Maybe I can French cut the Zucchini too in order to make use of all those miter saws. And an Angel Food cake depending upon what blade shows up with all the miter saws being delivered. And watermelon -- nothing better than a French cut watermelon from a miter saw. The neighbors will think I'm starting a choir of Sears miter saws. The Sears Tabernacle Choir Of Miter Saws in my back yard.

That's the look I'm goin' for.

For all the laser levels showing as being shipped to me (probably some of all of your orders I suspect -- who knows? it's Sears) I may ship some of those out to the people working on the Sphinx. They need to get that nose fixed up on that thing. and get it square with the world.

That's what happened 5,000 years ago -- Khufu asked if anything was ordered from Sears. Some minion said yes, a laser level was ordered from Sears. Holy cow, what trouble that brought on to the Nile plateau. Fortunately they didn't have the wheel nor the miter saw back then.

This morning, with a renewed sense of positive attitude, I again contacted Sears by voice phone to see if this mistaken shipping of multiple copies of the same item being shipped to me could be straightened out. This from all the Sears.com foul-ups mentioned above by me and by others.

I think my name is No. That's what they call me. No.

Seems I got transferred to Mexico -- couldn't understand a word being said to me. I held the receiver up to my dog's ear and my dog turned his head sideways too. So I asked for a Supervisor and was immediately transferred to the Queen Of Mexico (I didn't know Mexico was still a monarchy). Couldn't understand a lick of what the Queen was saying but it sounded to me like I should eat cake. My dog said, "Let's eat cake. I love cake. Get the cake."

Well using my Berlitz Mexican to English translator book I came to understand the charges will continue to exist against my accounts and I will have to deal with the problem myself once all the mistakenly shipped items arrive at my place. My problem evidently is not a Sears.com problem at all.

Must be a Mexican cultural approach to problem solving -- always deny the problem exists and whatever problem doesn't exist is alwyas someone else's problem. In the corporate world that's called the Nay Nay solution. Didn't know it had sprung all the way to Mexico just like that killer bee situation.

Alas, it seems I either have to quickly learn Spanish (por favor) or eat all the costs of these Sears.com foul-ups.

And the day had started out on such a good note too. Now this again.

Appreciated Ben's substitution with the word bacon. I showed it to my dog and my dog said, "Get the bacon. I love Ben's bacon."

The very first Sears product arrived tonight. Very quick shipping which I appreciate from Sears. It came UPS Ground which is so much better than that quackery involving the US Postal Service.

Tomorrow, all the duplicate orders will start arriving that I've acquiesced to taking back to the local Sears store for the expected refund adventure.

My dog has been whining all day long with questions about when the bacon will be arriving.

I have replied, "Soon grasshopper, Soon."

Believe it or not, Shark Tank called tonight. Wants to know about this whole thing with French cut bacon.

???

I don't want to miss the opportunity so I told them it's a Sears charcoal grill attached to a miter saw, self-leveling grease using a laser level.

It's the best thing I could come up with on short notice.

Well they love it. The producers that is.

I'm expecting 100K for a 20% stake. All thanks to Sears. Love those people.

I mean, look at the expansion possibilities. Bacon, green beans, zucchini, summer squash and a pork roast. Completely organic too. Put a Panini with all that an the possibilities are endless. George Foreman just sent me an email -- too busy with the dog and the bacon delivery to have read the email yet.

I'm thinking of calling it Rope-A-Bacon. You order one single thing from Sears.com and when you're all worn out from talking with Sears tech support, all kinds of Sears products start arriving in your face.

I'm calling the product return The Imbargo-in-Chicago.
