although I'm not a fan of rebate, but this is just what I need to replace my lame OEM tower's poor power supply.

That's weird. All the OEM Lame Computer Parts components I use run OK for me...

It's OK if you don't upgrade any parts, but if you gonna buy additional SSD, HDD or even a graphic card, then the OEM power supply probably would not have sufficient watts to power your machine.

Some of these have a Whine even when powered off. Have to unplug power cord.

I have 5 of these over the last few years and no whine so far. Rebate has always come. This price is the best yet. Might get another one for spare.
