Kinda sketchy reviews...from someone who used a portable radio daily for a quarter of a century (before retiring), a a rotating turn knob for volume control is much more convenient than a push-button volume control.
It appears that the Motorola Talkabout radios are the only ones that are consistently well-reviewed. I used Motorola radios in my career and rarely had a problem...when I did, it was always a battery-related issue. If I were to buy/need some of these radios, I would certainly purchase a Motorola product.
