Please beware of this store. All reviews are fake or negatives are removed. I should know since i placed a negative review and it never showed. Also when i purchased an item they stated it was US and shipped from US but item was shipped from China. Poor customer service and immoral company. Just a heads a up!
I bought a google tv from this site. $65 dollars. Android 5.0, 2gb of RAM. Works good. Could use more RAM but for the price it works well. For some reason, You Tube app doesn't work but you can just use the browser. Kodi works but you need to restart every time you want to watch a different "thing".
Now, I knew this was a Chinese site and Chinese products. I was willing to part with my hard earned money if it turned out to be a scam. It wasn't. It took over a month to deliver from China. I watched it like a hawk. Now I have a pretty cheap google tv and a pretty cheap smart watch. Both 65. I would say try the site but I'm sure there are a lot of shenanigans.
I had a good experience buying an android box from them about a month ago and it took 3 weeks to arrive in Florida from CHina.
Just make sure you look up the reviews and if the reviews are good I would feel safe to order from GearBest (although I have never had to RMA anything yet so I cannot comment on how reliable they are with refunds)
A couple of weeks ago I went to , searched for S805, and bought a like-new open-box unit from the Warehouse for $25 with 2-day Prime shipping. It works fine for what it is, but I'm bummed that the Android release of Kodi doesn't include the awesome ProjectM visualizations for music playback.
I placed several orders from GearBest and never had a problem. You can pick whether you want your item to be shipped from China (cheaper) or a US warehouse (faster). Sorry you had a bad experience #1 but I don't think it's representative of the company.
As far as the reviews on their site... you're probably right.
I have bought lots of stuff from this company about 30 items it takes about 31 days if you don't pay for shipping,but you don't get tracking number,i use paypal,the last time it took 3 months to get my last order which is the first time I had problems,anything you buy in china is tax free if you keep it under $200Chiptrip MXV Amlogic S805 orting it through American customs your better with a box with 2gb of memory to stop freezing,you can buy keyboard mouse combo from them for $10.50 ,it would be better with android 5.0 on it its cheaper else where buy about $4

Why are you so concerned about this? Where are you downloading content that a H.264 decoder if not older, isn't supported? It has to be a small niche and will be for a few more years.
