Have this built into my garage door openers already. Works well, no need for integration with all my other smart home apps. Only wish they would make different/custom alert sounds for each one you can define.
Hate it doesn't have SmartThings or IFTTT support. Installed in July. Works 90% of the time, I have had some issues as of late that concern me. Nice product just be aware of what you are getting.
I bought a model that had already been registered a while back and I was not able to set it up. The Chamberlain support people were really fantastic and fixed the problem for me.
Note that they make two gateway models that both work with the same app. This one connects to your WiFi network and contains what is essentially a programmable garage door remote, so that when you trigger it from the app it sends the code to your garage door. It relies on the little box, which is a battery operated wireless door sensor, to determine whether the door is opened or closed.
The round thing on the big box is a bright LED that doubles as a garage light and flashes when you remotely close the door.
The other gateway model they sell is in two parts, one connects to your router via Ethernet and communicates by proprietary wireless protocol to a wall button that you wire instead of your existing one, and is compatible with fewer models. This one is compatible with much older garage door opener models.
In doubt, don't hesitate to call Chamberlain, they have great tech support.
