My hesitation on getting one of these has always been that to hoist, or lower it, you're going to want the space under it clear of anything else, so you might as well just put the bike there instead... unless you're just storing it during winter so you won't be using it for a while.
$10 at my local Menards. YMMV but this isn't a deal.
After using one for a while, I found the whole process tedious. I ended up just putting screw in hooks from the ceiling and it's much easier.
If you are short, or the ceilings very tall, then thus might be better...

Not something you're going to want to use every day, but great for long term storage.
