One thing they don't list: The K-50 is weatherproof and can be used in the rain with a weatherproof lens. Maybe more important if you are just getting into interchangeable lens photography is that the K-50 can be had new for under $300, and you can use 50+ years worth of great Pentax lenses on the K-50.
Canon cameras use solid parts, and they have the best warranty and customer support in the business. The lenses use great glass, and we are really buying into the lenses system, not the body of the camera. Nice buy and coming from Canon these should be solid.
I've heard such great things about this camera. It would be nice to use this as a second-shooter for my wife. Hopefully, the refurbished aspect doesn't impact the quality or warranty.
I didn't come across a Kohl's deal as mentioned in the comments for the T5i. I've seen a lot of the stores provide deals for the T5, which is the basic model.
I looked over the T5 vs T5i in-store last summer. I thought the T5i was significantly better, but the price points were noticeably different. I didn't make a purchase and now don't remember why I liked the T5i over the base version. This is a good price, but refurb does make me nervous with electronics.

Did you see the refurb 70D for $650 at the Canon store?
Thank you!
