Fungus is caused by dampness, open sandals like these reduce fungus. It's a bit puzzling that they mentioned arch support since these clearly don't offer any... nor should you want any, if your arch was meant to bear weight it wouldn't be the part of your foot arched to stay off the surface you're walking on.
