You could always wire up a switch in the passenger compartment to turn it off and on, since it doesn't do what would have been nicer which is stay off until a proximity detector detected you were within a certain range. Then again that feature would significantly raise the price.
It's highly doubtful that this is 720lm, would probably overheat driven that hard but it doesn't need to be. Considering it's probably 5mW, the largest class legal to either sell or import without a license, it wouldn't be 1/10th that rating if a lumen rating is even valid for it.

I would say... I'm not the " guinea " that's going to see if the police in the USA would take fault to this.
