I have one of these and I love it, two birds with one stone. I seldom need more than 3 USB3.0 ports at a time anyway, so sacrificing the 4th port and gaining an extra Ethernet interface is a great tradeoff. I wouldn't ordinarily carry a separate ethernet adapter because I use it so seldom, but since I already have it, I've been equipped to pull some Stupid Network Tricks(tm) in a pinch.
^ You lost me. Why does a VPN provider need to support a particular client network adapter?
One thing to be aware of is that some users report that if you have higher powered things plugged into the USB ports, it may end up starved for power and cause network adapter dropouts.

Thank you!
