With a new one (but non HD) only $49 I'm not sure these used ones with NO warranty are worth it.

The $35 kindle that I bought on BF sure gets a lot of use at my house. Not even sure of the specs, but the kids seem to like it and the "actually free" Underground thing is a pretty good gimmick. Just have to make sure one-click ordering is disabled.

Must echo this. Discovered a tablet I purchased from the 'Warehouse' running an inauthentic/unverifiable copy of Windows 8.

More often than not, these sellers are wholly unaffiliated with
    Amazon
, meaning they are not above exploiting the reputation/trust of the brand/banner.

Having said that, at this price, this is a solid (almost necessary) ancillary to any of their Fire streaming devices. In for one.

'... I got one for a weather station display for an old man. He continues to get lost in cr@p that should not even be displayed.'

@RagMaN If all you wanted was a weather display for someone who isn't tech-savvy, I would say you made a mistake in purchasing a device that's designed to do far more than that. That's your fault, not that of the product.

It's a complex compendium for Prime members, primarily. It's a niche product, arguably, but what it definitely is not is a one-trick pony.
