^ Yeah it's odd, that there were rumors of a lawsuit because SCD's bundles included minutes that were either being sold separately or applied to different phones by customers, but at the time there was nothing preventing people from applying the HSN bundled minutes to other phones too... not sure about now.

Who cares anyway? TF still got paid for the minutes.
^ TF cares because they are making less profit on the bundles but were accepting that to lure new customers which would be addt'l future revenue, instead of what happened which was existing customers paid less than they otherwise would have. In some cases a phone plus a year of service cost less than the year of service alone.
Plus, if TF sells you a year of service directly (off their website) at price X, they make more than if SCD buys lower then sells it at same price, because SCD takes the middleman markup profit off of X, but perhaps this is not a valid comparison since that's the same thing that every other gas station and grocery store in the country that sells TF airtime cards does.
I'm not arguing with you though, just stating what appears to be TF's position. Personally I think if they wanted to tie airtime activation to a specific phone serial # they could do that easily enough so they must have known this situation would come up, but underestimated the lengths customers would go to in order to get cheaper airtime.
If you spend some time on Howardforums or Turk forums you'll find TF customers that have more old phones than fingers and toes. At least they make reasonable MP3 players.

Completely understand your point. But many of their selling stores will allow you use the store's % off code when available. So they are still allowing you to buy their minutes at a discount from someone other than themselves. The HSN deals are fantastic. You can get a LTE phone with a year of service, 400 minutes and 150 bonus minutes for less than the price of a one year card on the TF site. Weird.

I'm sure HSN made them a good offer.
