Purpose of a pocket tool is when you don't have access to full-size tools and need something reliable in a pinch. 'Would rather spend more on a Leatherman, Gerber, or Swiss Army knife.

I agree I'd rather have a gerber or leatherman, but this would be good for a motorcycle tool kit or in a hiking pack.
